Applications of the SITA Foam Tester R-2000
The SITA Foam Tester R-2000 is the newest development from SITA-Messtechnik
GmbH and was first presented in March 2000 at the Hanover Trade Fair in Germany.
The patented rotor allows for adjustable air-intake into the sample liquid
resulting in the repeatable production of foam. Mounted on the back side of
the instrument is a sample liquid reserve which allows repeated testing of the
sample to obtain statistically assured test results.
The Foam Tester R-2000 is exceptionally suitable for....
The Characterization of Body Care Products:

For researching foam behavior such as the foam disintegration
of surface active solutions, also shampoo, shower gels, body lotion, hand soap
etc. A direct comparison between different solutions makes the optimization
of foam generation and disintegration possible. The Foam Tester R-2000, however,
is not only suitable for Research and Development, but also for Quality Control.

The Foam Behavior of different Shower Gels
Test made with 250ml Water, Test sample 4ml, Temp. 23°C,
Mixing speed 1000U/min, Mixing time 10s
The Characterization of Industrial Cleaning Products
as well as Cleaning Products for Retail Customers:
a) A cleaning product's foaming behavior often plays a big role for customers.
A cleaner which foams well will be seen as being effective rather than
a weak foaming cleaner.
Here, the SITA Foam Tester R-2000 offers the possibility for customer
oriented, scientific testing.
b) It is, however, often of interest in industrial cleaning to use the least foaming
cleaner. Too much foam prevents effective use of the surface as well as cleaner.
Foam build-up can be oppressed with expensive de-foamers. Through scientific
testing of foam properties and through the optimal use of de-foamers one can save considerably.

Foam Kinetics of Different Foamers
Test made with 250ml Water + 3 Drops of Sample Liquid,
Mixing Speed 1200U/min, Mixing Time 30s, Sample Temp. 35°C
Quality Control in the Beer Trade:
And when foam generation is secondary to the foam disintegration, we insist
on having our own way with a few beer samples. Cheers!
