Applications of the SITA pro line f10
The SITA pro line f10 is the world's first mobile tensiometer for measuring
the dynamic surface tension of liquids. The tensiometer works by measuring
bubble pressure. This is done by pumping air through a capillary into the
liquid to be analyzed. The bubble pressure is proportional to the surface tension.
SITA pro line f10 is especially suitable for:
Detergent Manufacturers and Their Personnel:
calibrating, optimizing and servicing the facilities of washing and rinsing processes.
Various products from detergent manufacturers are used in the stages
of washing and rinsing. Owing to their know-how, personnel of the detergent
manufacturers are often responsible for calibrating, optimizing and servicing
the industrial laundry process. The consumption of detergent needs to be kept
low while optimum cleaning is desired. This situation leads to low costs and
low environmental impact. Usually, the concentration of detergent is measured
by titration, a procedure which takes about 5 minutes and requires additional
chemicals. By measuring with the SITA pro line f10 this procedure is minimized to 1
minute. The result is a considerable amount of saved time.

Plating and Surface Treatment Companies:
The surfactant concentration in the bath is responsible for the
resulting quality of the coated surface (dense, shine). Because of its
surface active characteristics, the surfactant influences the surface
tension of the bath. The surfactant is washed out during the process.
To know when and how much surfactant needs to be refilled, in some cases
the surface tension of the bath is measured in a laboratory on a daily basis.
Mostly the surfactants are refilled after a fixed schedule or by estimate.
Determining the surfactant concentration by online surface tension
measurement makes it possible to automatically tune the bath by
dosing the appropriate amount of surfactant more often during the day, so that
the bath keeps its quality. Taking samples to the laboratory is no longer
necessary, which reduces laboratory times and health risks as well.

Monitoring the Concentration of Wetting Agents:
The concentration of wetting agents can be monitored by continuously measuring
the surface tension. This is of importance in galvanic baths, the production of
ceramic coatings and in the photo industries. Here, the concentration of the
wetting agent has a direct impact on the quality of the coating. An indirect
measurement of the concentration of wetting agent makes it possible to control
the dosing of the wetting agent in galvanic baths.
