Development and Worldwide Distribution of Measuring Devices for the Dynamic Surface Tension of Liquids

The History of our Company:

1996 Engineers from the Institute of Precision Engineering at the University of Technology-Dresden found the company SITA to build advanced measuring devices.
1997 Engineers at SITA develop the world's first mobile bubble pressure tensiometer, the SITA online f10.
1997 SITA wins the innovation award of the Metal and Electro Industries of Saxony, Germany for the SITA online f10.
1998 SITA enters the market with the SITA online f10.
1999 SITA successfully tests their first instrument for process control.
1999 SITA introduces the SITA online t60 to the market. The SITA online t60 features an extended measuring range in comparison to the f10 and fully controlled bubble lifetimes.
2000 The SITA Foam Tester is introduced to the market at the Hanover Trade Fair. The SITA Foam Tester R-2000 is an instrument for testing the kinetics of foam. The process is fully automatic.

In the Beginning There was the Washer.

It all started when a group of young engineers were working on new, innovative ways of measuring the dynamic surface tension of liquids which were to be used in appliances. This research was a project at the University of Technology in Dresden, Germany. Back then in 1993 those guys were creating the basis of a new generation of tensiometers which became the foundation of our company's success.

With the experience of successfully building the first prototypes of the new instrument, SITA GmbH was founded in 1996. SITA stands for the Greek letters SIgma and TheTA - the ISO symbols for surface tension and temperature - two characteristics of liquids and now also the sign for innovative, easy to use instrumentation from Germany. In 1998 we introduced our first instrument, the SITA online f10, to the market. This instrument won the German Innovation Award of the Saxon Metal and Electro Industries. Our second instrument, the SITA online t60, was first presented at the Hanover Trade Fair in 1999 and offers advanced features. In the same year we successfully tested prototypes of an online Process Tensiometer for controlling manufacturing processes in first industrial applications. With our latest development, the SITA Foam Tester R-2000, which we first presented at the Hanover Trade Fair in 2000, we extended our product range to an instrument which enables you to test the foam kinetics of water-based surfactant solutions. This instrument works fully automatic and gives highly repeatable results.
